First of all, the shipment has taken a little less than three (3) weeks to reach our house in Spain. When you open the cute box that contains it, what is most striking about this small Wi-Fi repeater is its lightness and compact size. Also surprising is the absence of written instructions in a language other than Mandarin Chinese. Thus, the pamphlet that comes in the box is in Chinese and only has, as far as we can understand, a simple graphic indication and a QR code. This leads us to download the "Xiaomi Home" application, which allows us to manage the devices of this brand connected to our Wi-Fi network. But before that, to establish communication between the Wi-Fi router and our Xiaomi repeater, we have to connect it to the electrical current, close to the Wi-Fi router. The process is automatic and hardly requires our intervention. While both are communicating, the repeater's LED flashes red and, when finished, it lights up continuously in blue, being ready to be used. To do this, you just have to go to the list of Wi-Fi devices that appears on our work device and select the name of the repeater. It is recognized in the list because it has almost the same name as our router in question; just slightly change its name, adding “_plus” at the end of this. The repeater is equipped with two high-gain antennas (2 dBi, according to the device's data sheet on the purchase website) and an “American” type plug (with two parallel flat terminals); also with an adapter to connect it to Spanish and European plugs (with two round terminals). According to the data sheet, the data transmission speed is 300 Mbps. In practice, communication is really just as fast if we connect directly to the router or to the repeater. According to the manufacturer, the double antenna is to guarantee access to many devices. In our case, we have had no problems connecting several phones and computers at the same time. We have tested it in a house with three floors and a basement, with a medium-width staircase. The router is located in the living room on the ground floor. The performance is satisfactory in all cases, although the intensity of the signal that reaches the repeater when placed in the attic (two floors away from the router) is not full. In summary, this compact device, light and a few centimeters in size, has turned out to be a very good purchase for its usefulness, good operation and, it must also be said, for its low price. So much so that we are going to buy a second unit. We hope that this review will be useful and to the liking of all.
